Almost A Haiku
Tongva once lived here
And the river sustained life
Then the colonizers came…
In a dream we saw a river bond within itself, life rolling along concrete embankments.
Pillars and panels obscuring discrete encampments of shopping carts, abandoned shoes and houseless channeling indigenous spirits.
Regretfully, we dreamed of imprisoned lives jailed near concrete embankments of an ecological statement of man attempting to master a living flow.
But then the vison shifted of a prison that became a prism of kaleidoscopic communities while providing centralized opportunities for others striving to thrive along the Los Angeles River’s living flow.
The confluency at the intersect of man-made pathways is halfway to the panarchial solutions that would bring a region together. At the point of Arroyo Seco, a hub can be born to honor the Tongva existence that was torn away in haste and at the sake of progress.
Arroyo Seco currently exist as a barren intersect that is difficult to revitalize or gentrify because there is no one there to kick out.
But at the point of confluency, the spirits are moving con-fluidly, in concert with the basic laws of that are many who truly do give a damn without building one.
We self-define. Self-determine and self-defend. We dream of trusting the land and water as its’ Creator has entrusted us to preserve, respect and steward.
Envision, if you will, a community entrusting a land that internally sustains opportunity through collective ownership and seamless environmentally supportive infrastructure. We intrafy…
The Intrafication of Arroyo Seco self-defines, self-determines and self-defends the Los Angeles River and while identifying it as the hub to bring other river communities together.
Community confluentially integrated into greater things beyond malls, restaurants and golf courses. Re-vital to houseless lives in repurposing former jail cells into homes for some cooperative mini-condo sale because in this land we trust.
In this land we trust… we honor, we train, we sustain and we intersect points of ecospirituality at the confluence of Arroyo Seco. We dream of being the hub of the Los Angeles River.
